Very unusual item up for sale. This is a two-colored ancient Hawaiian pounder either used for grinding herbs, wood or for pounding such items as taro to make poi or medicinal plants. Though I don't know the exact age of this .... my guess is early to middle 1800s of not earlier. Pounder measures about 5 inches in height.
