This is a vintage Japanese Kokeshi Doll.
Very sweet!
Lovely face. I bought this at an Estate Sale about 10 years ago in California. ( From a couple that collected all things Japanese.) On the bottom of the doll next to where it is stamped JAPAN, it says in faint red ink, "To Ellie".
The head moves all the way around. Great detail on doll.
