Description of origin
*The city of HAMADAN is situated in the western part of Iran. Hamadan serves as a depot for more than a thousand villages, and this is why there are a wide variety of patterns and designs to the HAMADAN rugs. The wool comes from hardy sheep from high altitudes and gets its color from vegetable dye. The Hamadan rug is knotted on a cotton foundation and the pile is of strong wool. These rugs are strong and durable, and have an excellent quality. The patterns vary from geometric to floral.
